The Salem Newbery Club has narrowed down its list of books to 10 finalists. We'll be meeting again on January 21 to pick our Mock Newbery winner. The winner of the actual Newbery medal will be announced on Monday, January 27. Here are our ten finalists:
The Salem Middle Newbery Club is off to an early start for the 2013-14 school year. This book club reads and discusses newly published books by American authors, trying to predict the winner of the American Library Association's coveted Newbery Medal.
The club is open to all readers. We meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 3:00-3:50 in the school library. Our next meeting is Tuesday, July 23. Visit the SMS Newbery Club website for more information and permission forms.
